Carpal Tunnel

Carpal tunnel is a condition that occurs when the median nerve is compressed as it travels through the wrist, resulting in pain, numbness, and weakness in the hand and arm.

Carpal Tunnel

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition that results from pressure on the median nerve in the wrist, leading to a variety of symptoms such as pain, numbness, and weakness in the hand and arm. This pressure on the nerve can be caused by a variety of factors including repetitive hand movements, wrist injuries, and certain medical conditions such as diabetes or arthritis.

Treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome may involve a combination of approaches including chiropractic adjustments to the wrist and arm, stretches and exercises to improve range of motion and flexibility, and lifestyle modifications to reduce repetitive hand movements and prevent future flare-ups. My goal is to work with my clients to identify the underlying cause of their symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs and goals.

Symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome may develop gradually over time or may come on suddenly, and can be particularly troublesome for individuals whose work or hobbies involve repetitive hand movements.

  • Numbness, tingling, or a “pins and needles” sensation in the hand or fingers, especially the thumb, index, and middle fingers
  • Weakness in the hand or difficulty gripping objects
  • Pain or discomfort in the wrist or hand, which may radiate up the arm
  • Increased hand clumsiness or tendency to drop objects
  • Burning or itching sensation in the hand or fingers
  • Discomfort or pain that worsens with repetitive wrist or hand movements, such as typing or using a computer mouse
  • Symptoms that are often worse at night, causing difficulty sleeping.
